She’s of Indian descent. Her father is from Ethiopia — her mother, Kenya. But Rubina Azizdin is a born and raised American. Central PA to be exact. During her childhood, little was made about her religious differences, but the racial divide in America was much more noticeable, and affected the only Indian family in her hometown of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Rubina was drawn to other kids of different backgrounds. Since then, the diverse population of Pennsylvania has grown tremendously. Rubina now works as a career counselor at Central Penn College.
